The Acampo Machine Works grape harvester sorter is used in large crop Central Valley vineyards. Here where the climate is hotter, growers need to deliver more whole bunches and clusters. Conventional harvester sorters destem 100% of the fruit forcing each berry thru a screen. This limits their ability to work in 7 ton per acre (+) vineyards and breaks up the berries, juicing the load too much for valley growers and wineries.

Acampo Machine Works mechanical sorters are retrofitted onto currently running harvesters. We have two different models to choose from.  The Model “A” has been working in California vineyards since 2017 with a long-proven track record.  The Model A sort system has two stages. The first stage is a star bed that separates single berries, clusters, and bunches from canes and wood. They simply drop down onto the cross conveyor and run their course out to the discharge arm. Wood and canes (that typically still have a bunch attached to them), continue out to the destemming barrel. Canes and wood come out the back and single destemmed berries are moved back into the cross conveyor. We estimate that in any given variety, we are destemming no more then 5%. This leaves a much more “whole” fruit look to our loads. 

The Model “B” unit is our newest unit for completely destemming the crop that is harvested.  Utilizing vibrating conveyors, fans, and a final destemmer, the result is unmatched for quality of MOG separation.  Both units are available for mounting onto a variety of harvesters.

The Acampo Machine Works olive stick sorter is a very simple unit that bolts onto any harvester’s discharge arm or onboard bins. As olives are deposited onto the sorter from the cross- conveyor, they find their way thru the star bed and onto the discharge arm or into the onboard bin. Sticks and leaves climb up the slight incline and are discharged off either side of the discharge arm or straight out if you are over a bin. If you have a stick problem, this is your solution. This unit is very simple and easy to install on any brand of harvester.
